APC Zonal Youth Leader Urges Aspirants to Prioritize Youths and Human Capital Development Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Zonal Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia Central Senatorial Zone, Dr. Okey Nwachukwu, has called on all aspirants seeking elective positions in the 2027 general elections to prioritize youth development and human capital advancement in their political engagements and consultations.

Dr. Nwachukwu, a prominent chieftain of the APC, emphasized the need for aspirants vying for positions across the Abia Central Senatorial Zone whether at the federal or state level to align with the aspirations of the youths. He urged them to develop clear, actionable plans for the zone and enter into a sincere social contract centered on good governance and measurable development outcomes.

According to him, the youths are no longer willing to support or elect leaders who are unprepared to meet the demands of legislative responsibilities or address the pressing socio-economic challenges facing the people.
“We are all in agreement that the 2027 elections must deliver greater dividends of democracy, especially considering the current economic realities. Campaigns must be issue-driven and focused on concrete solutions that will improve the standard of living of our people,” he stated.

Dr. Nwachukwu further noted that Abia Central is blessed with capable individuals across party lines but stressed that only those who demonstrate genuine commitment to youth inclusion and development would earn the support of the electorate. He warned that “it is no longer business as usual,” adding that the youths are determined to back only candidates who are youth-friendly, accessible, and intentional about addressing their needs.

The APC youth leader also advised aspirants to adopt a more engaging and respectful approach to politics by interacting directly with constituents, understanding their concerns, and avoiding divisive rhetoric. Instead, he encouraged them to present practical alternatives and solutions to the challenges facing the zone.

“Only issue-based campaigns and well-articulated manifestos will convince the people, particularly the youths, of what they stand to gain,” he concluded.
