Umuomai Town Union Receives 500kVA/11kV Transformer from Abia State Government

Umuomai, Akpaa Mbato Auto.Com. Abia State In a significant boost to electricity infrastructure, the Umuomai Town Union has officially received a 500kVA/11kV distribution transformer from the Abia State Government, a development expected to greatly improve power supply and voltage stability across the Town.

The transformer which was sponsored by Engr. Princewill Nwanmuo was received on behalf of the Town Union by Hon. Samuel Ogbonna, Mr. Princewill Nwanmuo, Comrade Stanley Nwaokonko (Evergreen), alongside Omai Youth Chairman, Mr. Chimaraoke Mbaraonye.

Speaking during the handover, the leadership of the Town Union expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, for responding to the community’s electricity needs. The Union also commended the Ministry of Power and Public Utilities, under the leadership of the Commissioner, Engr. Ikechukwu Monday for facilitating the intervention and ensuring the successful delivery of the transformer.

The Union described the project as a demonstration of the state government’s commitment to improving critical infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life of rural communities. The installation of the new transformer will significantly boost voltage, reduce power fluctuations, improve electricity distribution, and support businesses and other facilities, households that have long struggled with inadequate power supply.

The Umuomai Town Union assured the Abia State Government of its continued support and pledged to safeguard the transformer to ensure it serves the community effectively for many years.

Residents have welcomed the development with excitement, expressing optimism that the improved electricity supply will stimulate economic activities, encourage small-scale enterprises, and contribute to the overall development of Umuomai.
