Ugba Storms PDP Secretariat, Intensifies 2027 Consultations in Abia
Abia State governorship aspirant and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olugu Kalu Ugba, popularly known as Ishi Bu Mba, has continued his wide-ranging consultations with party stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ugba, who recently declared his ambition, on Tuesday met with caucus members of the PDP at the party’s State Secretariat located at Ogurube Layout in Umuahia, where he further outlined his vision and sought the backing of critical party structures.
Earlier in the day, the aspirant held a strategic meeting with members of the PDP State Working Committee (SWC), formally notifying them of his intention to contest for the Abia governorship seat. During the engagement, he emphasized the need for unity within the party and appealed for support, stressing that his ambition is driven by a desire to reposition the state through inclusive leadership.
Party stakeholders present at the meetings acknowledged Ugba’s consistency and longstanding commitment to the PDP, while discussions reportedly centered on strengthening internal cohesion and positioning the party for a strong outing in 2027.
With these engagements, Ugba appears to be consolidating early support within the party’s hierarchy, signaling a growing momentum as the race for Abia Government House gradually gathers pace.
