PUBLIC OUTCRY TRAILS REPRESENTATION IN OBINGWA/OSISIOMA/UGWUNAGBO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY
There is growing dissatisfaction among constituents of Obingwa, Osisioma Ngwa and Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency over what many describe as poor representation by their member in the House of Representatives, Hon. Munachim Ikechi Alozie.
Across social media platforms and community discussions, residents have expressed concern over the perceived absence of visible constituency impact, citing limited engagement, lack of empowerment programmes, and minimal federal presence in the area since the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly.
Some groups and individuals have gone as far as calling for his recall, accusing the lawmaker of failing to adequately represent the interests of the constituency at the National Assembly and maintain close contact with the grassroots.
Critics argue that despite the opportunities available through constituency projects, motions, and federal interventions, Obingwa, Osisioma and Ugwunagbo communities have little to show, compared to neighbouring constituencies.
In response to the criticism, Hon. Alozie has maintained that he remains active in his legislative duties in Abuja, insisting that not all achievements are physical projects and that effective lawmaking and oversight also constitute representation.
However, the debate continues to intensify, with many constituents insisting that representation must translate into tangible development and consistent engagement with the people.
As pressure mounts, political observers say the coming months will be crucial in determining whether the lawmaker can regain public confidence or if the agitation will further reshape the constituency’s political landscape.
