Hon Chris Nkwonta Honoured for Quality Representation, Exceptional Leadership
The lawmaker representing Ukwa West and Ukwa East at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Chris Nkwonta, has been honoured by his people of Asa North.
The honour which was bestowed on him amidst pomp and splendour by Asa North Council of Chiefs in a well-attended ceremony which held at Obingwu-Asa, Ukwa West LGA of Abia State over the weekend, had the people extolling the virtues of the Lawmaker who they described as unnassuming yet very effective as their Representative.
While performing the honour on their son, the Traditional Ruler of Asa North Autonomous Community, HRH Emeka Otah, commended Hon Nkwonta for his outstanding contributions to the constituency, his quality representation at the National Assembly, his visionary leadership style and commitment towards enhancing the sociopolitical fortunes and overall living standards of the people.
While further applauding him, some of those present at the event described Nkwonta as a selfless leader who had always demonstrated uncommon commitment to the service of the people and an unwavering dedication to their cause even long before he became a lawmaker, explaining that it was the reason the people supported and stood by him during the last general elections despite efforts in some quarters to frustrate his ambition. They acknowledged that he has since justified their support for him with his quality representation, hence, they trooped out in their numbers to appreciate him at the event.
While urging him not to relent in sponsoring quality Bill’s and Motions at the National Assembly for his people, they assured him of their continued support in all his endeavours and prayed God to keep granting him the needed strength and wisdom for the service of his people.
In appreciating the Traditional Ruler, HRH Eze Emeka Otah, Council of Chiefs and all those who did him the honour, Hon Chris Nkwonta reiterated his gratitude to them for their massive support before, during and after the last election. He promised to leverage his role as a lawmaker at the National Assembly to change the fortunes of the Constituency and the narratives about the people for better through people-oriented and community-inspired bills and motions.
The event was attended by dignitaries from across the constituency.
