Chief Barr Olugu Kalu Ugba Successfully Screened and Confirmed for Abia Guber Race Under PDP
Chief Barr Olugu Kalu Ugba has been successfully screened and confirmed to contest the governorship primaries under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming election.
The screening exercise, held in Abuja, at the PDP Secretariat on Thursday, 14th May, 2026, reviewed his credentials, experience, and eligibility for the party’s ticket.
According to sources present, Chief Ugba responded satisfactorily to questions from the panel and met the requirements set by the party.
With the confirmation, Chief Barr Ugba is now cleared to proceed as one of PDP’s governorship aspirants ahead of the elections.
A legal practitioner and known figure in Abia politics, Ugba expressed gratitude to the party and the screening committee for a transparent process. He pledged to run an issue-based campaign focused on development and good governance if he emerges as the party’s flagbearer.
