A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Isiala Ngwa South, Administrator Dr Okey Nwachukwu has charged members of the party to rally behind Chief Henry Ikoh who has declared interest for the Governorship in the build up to the 2027 election in the state insisting that the party can no longer afford to hang on the fence and be carefree with the 2027 Governorship election drawing near.
Dr. Okey warned that this same attitude of party leaders cost Dr. Uche Ogah the Governorship election in 2019 election despite being an outstanding candidate. The time for the APC to build momentum if we must win in the state is now and we can, hence true party faithfuls should not be showing semblances of no interest.
Nwachukwu commended and thanked the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu for doing exceptionally well with the Renewed Hope Agenda and particularly extolled his legislative sagacity which is evident and speaks for itself. The Deputy Speakers evident support to Mr. PRESIDENT’S vision is commendable and will not go unrewarded. He lamented that the attitude of prominent members of our party encouraging the ruling Labor party in Abia when we have a candidate that have shown interest in the 2027 governorship in any guise must stop and the party must enforce punitive sanctions.
It is immoral and unacceptable to have watched leaders of our party in the past motivate members in support of the opposition parties. I call on those tacitly given the labor party in the state support to please seize from doing so as the All Progressive Congress in Abia state of today has all it takes to wrestle power and win the 2027 Governorship election if well harnessed and mobilized to do so.
