Today, the people of Uhie, led by the illustrious Chairman Chief Okey Frank (Onwa), paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Obingwa, Hon. Maxwell C. Nwadike, at his picturesque country home in Abayi Umuocho. This gesture underscored the strong bond between the Uhie people and the chairman, who was once a member of their enclave, and served as a testament to the enduring spirit of unity and cooperation that exists between them.
Chief Okey Frank expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty God for granting Hon. Nwadike a resounding victory in the recent local government chairmanship election. He extolled Hon. Nwadike’s exceptional leadership qualities, noting that his triumph was a testament to his unwavering dedication, unrelenting perseverance, and uncompromising commitment to the welfare of Obingwa people.
The BoT Vice Chairman, Hon.Chief Chidi Atughonu, echoed this sentiment, praising Hon. Maxwell’s visionary leadership and expertise, which he believed would propel Obingwa to unprecedented heights. Chief Atughonu also highlighted some of the challenges facing Obingwa, soliciting the chairman’s attention and support. He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to address these challenges, ensuring that Obingwa continues to thrive and flourish in an atmosphere of peace, harmony, and mutual understanding.
In response, Hon. Nwadike thanked the Uhie people for their visit and kind words, reaffirming his commitment to fostering a strong partnership with the enclave. He also appealed to them to support the government and leadership style of Gov. Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, citing the numerous projects executed by the governor. Hon. Nwadike expressed confidence that Gov. Otti would continue to lead Abia State in 2027, with a focus on transforming Obingwa, the largest local government area in the state, into a beacon of development, prosperity, and progress.
The chairman emphasized that Obingwa’s strategic importance and vast potential would not be overlooked by the governor. He noted that Gov. Otti had already initiated several projects aimed at unlocking Obingwa’s economic potential, improving infrastructure, and enhancing the overall quality of life for its residents. These projects, Hon. Nwadike observed, would have a transformative impact on the lives of Obingwa people, empowering them to reach their full potential and live fulfilling lives.
Hon. Nwadike concluded by urging the Uhie people to join forces with him, working together under the “flying flag” of unity and progress. This collaborative spirit, he emphasized, would undoubtedly propel Obingwa toward a brighter future.
