The Executive Branch of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Obingwa paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area.
On Wednesday, November 20th, NULGE officials visited to congratulate the Executive Chairman on his recent electoral victory. Union Chairman Comrade Steve Anaba expressed their commitment to supporting the administration and emphasized the importance of prioritizing workers’ welfare, which is vital to the union.
Comrade Mrs. Eziaku Chidi Ehiemere further requested the restoration of the PVC and imprest to the unit heads, as well as the provision of offices and equipment for council staff, which had not been addressed by the previous administration.
The Chairman welcomed the union representatives and reminded them that workers are essential to any government, with himself merely facilitating its operations. He assured them of his commitment to providing a supportive work environment and to address their needs gradually. He encouraged them to enhance their productivity, particularly in generating internal revenue.
Additionally, he noted that the current worker commitment and productivity levels require improvement and urged them to embrace a more productive mindset. He expressed gratitude for their visit and reiterated his open-door policy for communication.
