#TOWARDS A PURPOSEFUL AND PEOPLE-ORIENTED LEADERSHIP IN UKWA EAST
In my aspiration and desire to become the Executive Chairman of Ukwa East Local Government Area and to offer a purposeful and people-oriented leadership to the good and hard-working people of Ukwa East Local Government Area.
I pledge to be an embodiment of the true spirit of selflessness, responsibility, fairness, courage, hard-work and commitment to social justice
As an Executive Chairman,i promise to initiate and roll out programs and projects aimed at enhancing the growth and development of the people of Ukwa East Local Government Area.
My administration will be centered in the following sectors;
*Education
*Youth and Women Empowerment
*Infrastructure
*Health, Sports and Social Services.
*Community Development and most importantly,
Agriculture..
This will be achieved through:
•The complete reconstruction/facelifting of four markets across the two zones that make up the Local Government namely; (1).the popular but dilapidated Ohanku market,(2) the Akwete market (3)the Umuogor market and (4) the Obohia market to modern markets to fit into the 21st century markets..
•Leveraging on the available funds that would be accrued to the Local Government,we shall embark on massive rural road grading across the wards and construction of roads to connect and reconnect our hitherto abandoned communities to other areas..
•Facilitating gainful employments and access to poverty reduction schemes of the Federal and State Governments.
•Championing literacy excellence at all levels of Education through financial supports, bursaries and award of scholarships to students in both secondary and tertiary institutions..
•Building and Establishment of an ICT Center in Ukwa East and the promotion of ICT capacity among the youths, upscaling access to technology in schools, and Poverty Skill acquisition with Start-up packs.
• Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Primary Health Care Centers across the two zones and the Support for Health Care Institutions, Orphanages, HIV/AIDS advocacy, Tuberculosis and general Health related Campaigns.
* Agriculture, the mainstay of Ukwa East economy will be given holistic attention. Aside from support to Farmers through purchase of improved seedlings/varieties,farm implements, insecticides and equipment for primary processing,we shall work with other levels of government to ensure that our farmers get their fair share of available resources and opportunities.
* Forging and maintaining a positive working synergy with the Leaders, the Youths and Community Organization
* Community Development program including market development and small credit scheme to benefit Market Women especially our aged mothers who trade at the popular Ohanku, Umuogor, Akwete, Obohia and other markets..
* Building and Establishment of a functional Skills Acquisition/Vocational Center in the Local Government Area for the training and enhancement of our youths in the area.
* Prudent utilisation of the Local Government funds for genuine, people-oriented, transparent and verifiable projects and programs aimed at impacting positively on the lives of our people..
In all, i promise to be accessible,reachable accountable, transparent and to make Ukwa East proud ,to lead in all honesty, humility and fear of God to the best of my abilities.
