Chief Ugboaja who was a former chieftain of the Young Progressive Party this afternoon at the Amaogwe Square, Umuomai, Akpaa Mbato join the Labour Party with his followers numbering over 500 defected to the Labour Party from the YPP.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors from Akpaa Mbato Ward 8 in Obingwa Local Government Area, Chief Ugboaja expressed their decision to defect to the Labour Party in support of Dr. Alex Otti who is doing very well in Abia. “Otti led government has changed the narrative’. ‘i commend the Governor’s efforts in road infrastructure and for enhancing Abia State’s cleanliness’. Chief Ugboaja assure both the Governor and the Labour Party of his full support.

Receiving the defectors, the State Labour Party Chairman, Hon. Emma Otti warmly welcome Chief Ugboaja and his followers emphasizing that Labour Party is a large family that accommodates every one. He extended his greetings on behalf of the Leader of the party, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti.

The event was attended by Executive Chairman, Obingwa LGA, Hon. Maxwell Nwadike, Hon. Peter Azubuike, The LG Labour Party Chairman, Apostle Enwereji and other dignitaries both the State and LG graced the ceremony.
