The Abia State leadership of Persons with Disabilities led by Mr. Wisdom Okechukwu has sent a Save Our Soul message to the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti over high handedness and threat from the Special Assistant on Persons with Disabilities Mr. David Anyaele, and his staff Mr Humphrey
This was made known at the press conference held today 28th June 2024 at the Kolping Society. The group accused the SA to the Governor of PWD of corruption and mistreatment of the leadership and the members. He enumerated issues causing distraction between the leadership of PWD in the state and Mr. Anyaele.

In response to the recent mistreatment and corruption by the SA to the Governor regarding Persons with Disabilities and his NGO Staff, we need to clarify why the SA is trying to harm Abians with Disabilities.
Significant funds were allocated by Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti OFR for a Disability Day event, but the SA misappropriated the money, leaving legitimate organizations out of the planning process, he said
– The First Lady provided essential goods for PWDs, but the SA distributed them unfairly, favoring his acquaintances over those in need.
– Additionally, the SA meddled with funds approved for an Association trip to Abuja, causing a deficit and hindering the group’s progress.
Across the board, the SA has caused division and hindered progress within the Disability community in Abia State, going against the Governor’s vision for inclusivity and support for all citizens. We can no longer stay silent in the face of such misconduct.
When our correspondent contacted Mr. David Anyaele, he denied having issues with the leadership of the Persons With Disabilities in the state. “I am surprised that they held press conferences”. *
“If anyone has an issue with him, the person should come and discuss it”.
